DO IT NOW...

Tell friends and relatives you are engaged
Choose the type of ceremony you want, and the amount
       people you want to invite.
Decide on your wedding date.
Vist potential venues and check availability.
Choose your best man, ushers and bridesmaids.
Set your budget and decide who's paying what.
Open a dedicated wedding savings account.
Organise your your wedding insurance.

6-12 MONTHS TO GO

Book your venue.
Make a first draft of your guest list.
Check your date with your minister, priest or rabbi or
       book the register office.
Send out save the date cards.
Start a wedding scrapbook filled with ideas torn out from the
       pages of Wedding and Wedding flowers
Hire a wedding co-ordinator, if needed.
Choose your florist and discuss ideas.
Look at sample menus and book your caterer.
Start looking for your cake maker.
Make appointments to try on dresses
Begin a health and beauty regime.
Order your stationery.
Book your reception entertainment.
Book your wedding cars.
Book your Photographer.
Book your videographer.

4-6 MONTHS TO GO

Choose and purchase your wedding rings.
If your wedding is not in a Church, give notice of the
       marriage to the superintendent registrar at your
      local registery office
Prompt the groom to start looking for suits for himself,
      his best man and the ushers.
Have your first dress fitting with lingerie and shoes.
Choose your bridesmaid dresses.
Find and book your hair and make-up artist.
Choose your gift list company and set up your list.
Choose or start making your wedding day favours
Arrange a menu tasting with your caterer.
Order your wedding cake.
Reserve any rental equipment such as chairs or glassware.
Reserve accommodation for any guests who need it.
Plan and book your honeymoon.

2-4 MONTHS TO GO

Confirm your booking if you are marrying in a register office.
Send out your invitations, including details of your gift list.
Select your readings and music and confirm your choices
      with your selected place of marriage.
Have order of service sheets printed.

Write your personalised wedding vows, if necessary.
Schedule a wedding rehearsal for a week before the wedding.
Contact local and national newspapers if you want to publish
       your wedding announcement.
Buy a guest book.
Finalize your honeymoon plans, visas, passports
       and travel insurance.
Book your first-night hotel.
Buy your going away outfit.
Try our various hair and make-up looks.
Plan your hen and stag party with your attendants.

1-2 MONTHS TO GO

Buy the marriage licence from the registrar.
Chase all unanswered invitations and draw up final guest list.
Finalize your seating plan.
Give the number of guests to your to caterer.
Choose gifts for your wedding party.
Write thank you notes as people start to buy from yout gift
       list.
Find out where your guests are staying if you plan to deliver
      gifts on their roooms.
Give your fiancé, father and best man a gentle nudge to start
       working on their speeches.
Have your dress fitting and confirm the collection date.
Book your final hair appointment.
Finalize transport.
Hold your hen and stag parties.

2 WEEKS TO GO

Confirm timings with all your key wedding suppliers, including
       photographer, florist, cake maker, and band/DJ.
Type up a list of must-have shots for your photographer.
Write out your place cards or send them to be printed.
Remind your fiancé to have a haircut.
Plan your honeymoon wardrobe.

1 WEEK TO GO

Hold your wedding rehearsal with the rest of the wedding
      party.
Have a final hair and make-up practice.
Re-confirm final numbers with the caterer.
Arrange for the cake to be delivered to the reception venue.
Double-check your outfit and accessories.
Wear in your wedding shoes around the house.
Make sure the best man has arranged for the hire outfits to
      be returned on time after the wedding.

THE DAY BEFORE

Have your honeymoon luggage sent to your first-night hotel.
Help to decorate the venue, if neccessary.
Have a manicure and pedicure.
Eat a light meal, take a bath with lots of bubbles, have an
      early night - and try to relax
